I’m not very knowledgeable about politics, but here is my first thought from a perspective of him claiming to be a “Christian”. If we are meant to be ‘salt and light’ I think he has maintained and not necessarily improved on the country. By his example/position, I think he has preserved goodness to his ability(salt) and in his position demonstrated goodness and respect in dealing with all sorts of situations(light). I give him a 6.5.
I give him a 5.
Ha! I give him a 4 at best. Not that I don’t pray for our leader. I do.
RYC: Yeah, Soul Patrol, baby! WOOOOOO! LOL
Thanks. She likes it a lot. I’m still getting use to it, though!
RYC: It can be scary, especially when they turn out different than what you hoped.
What moderate friends you have….
omgz his eyes match his tie!!! Automatic 10!
ok, jk. I think, while he’s made some major screwups, he’s kept the country afloat. …4
on his handling of 9/11 : 6 on his handling of post 9/11 issues (osama, investigation) : 3 on his handling of iraq (WMD intelligence : 2, invasion : 7, rebuilding : -2) on his “no child left behind” : -3 (how can you educate children if you cut millions of dollars and constantly test progress rather than teach the kids?) on his dealings with taxes and corporations ( for corporations : 11, for the average us citizen : 1) on his appointments for supreme courts (roberts : 8, miers : -2 what was he thinking?, alito : 2 as a judge on lower courts, he made several decisions that were both criticized by conservate judges at his level and eventually overturned by the surpreme court) on is NSA wiretapping : -5 … what is this, nazi germany, communist russia? the reason that we have the federal court to approve warrants of wiretapping exclusively is to keep the system in check. what happens when the president (executive branch) extends his powers without being checked by the judicial branch? he throws off the most essential part of democracy that has enabled us to survive this long.
as for his religious beliefs, i don’t think he has made great strides in enhancing the image of Christ throughout the nation or the world. if anything, he has shown that he is pro-rich, secretive, hasty with decisions (iraq, harriet miers, etc), so a 3.
so for the average us citizen, he’s got a 1.6667 average (16% approval). it’s a little lower than his current public poll, but some of these issues haven’t been brought up by main stream media as much as they should be : wiretapping, no child left behind, taxes.
while i might be criticized for being a “liberal” or cynic… it is our job as citizens and voters to _constantly_ monitor and evalutate our president’s job. after all, we gave it to him… we deserve to opening criticize his presidency. to quote one of the greatest minds in US history : thomas jefferson
“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. “

RYC: Thanks Pete. How’ve you been since I last saw ya? –Tiffany
wow. I agree with most of what starving4clarity said. which if averaged gives him… 4.55.
2. I supported the insurgance into Afgahnistan, but that’s all. Other than that I think he’s been manipulative all the way and I don’t trust him a lick. And I’m saying that as an informed voter. I’m trying not to live by the “Hate Bush” agenda that so many of my fellow liberals are living by. I hope you’re summer is going good and I’m planning on being at that show in Elgin on the 17th to see you and The Pattern play. Take care man.
I’ll say a 5 cause 1 is kinda mean. Hi Pete!
RYC: Thank you, Pete!
I think 3?? I wish he loved world peace more than wars.
ryc: thanks Pete!
wow, not much love for the Bushwacker…
I’d give him a 7
probably the highest of anyone here… prolly cuz Im the only Republican here
Does he have his short commings? Well duh, we all suck, and Mr. Bush is no exception. Is there somethings that could have been handled better? Sure. But honestly, theres not much sense inarguing about it now. Does it suck that we are in a perpetual war? well, yes. BUT its not like we can just cut our losses and pull out. Not possible… Thats just my $.02
RYC: That’s awesome that you played there today! Was it really different from playing at C.C.? I’ve actually been starting to feel somewhat better… good ol’ antibiotics. I leave on Tuesday for Hawaii, so I’m just getting ready for that. –Tiffany
I give him a 4!
2.
Happy “late” Mother’s Day!!! lol
Hey thanks pete. How are things going for you? things are going pretty good for us here. Paul got a new job, he eats fruit all day. he loves it.
Have a wonderful week Pete^^

He went against the will of the country, against the will of the UN, was basically a puppet to the rich oil people, and created a war for financial gain. He has given Americans a bad name in the international community and has made my job as a minister more difficult because they see him as “christian” and so I have to explain to people that not all Christians are so self-serving and war-hungry. I am still glad to be an american, but I am less likely to say it nowadays because of the actions of this president and his administration.
two thumbs way down. I can’t believe some of your friends gave him a 7. What news were they watching?
hope you are okay.
yours adam
okay maybe they gave him a 4 which i think is way too high…
G.W.B. seems to get the shaft a lot. i’m not really sure how i would rank him. i’m republican, so i voted for him. i’ve always found him more appealing than his running mates. i’d never want to be president. talk about a short life span.
